The botanical name is derived from the fruit, which some say tastes like all tropical fruits combined into one but early consumption before ripening can cause strong irritation to the inside of the mouth. The fruit also expels a pungent smell as it ripens, but a fully ripe fruit will not smell. Hence, the Delicious Monster was born.
